Opportunity and uncertainity often exist side by side.
Jun 04, 2026
I'm not going to sugarcoat it.
It feels hard right now.
Redundancies. AI. Cost of living pressures. Businesses restructuring.
People are quietly wondering what comes next.
In the past month, I've coached clients through career pivots, burnout, and conversations about whether early retirement might be the right path.
I've also watched clients win prestigious industry awards, be invited to lecture in their field of expertise, be promoted to Partner, and launch successful consultancies.
The reality?
Opportunity and uncertainty often exist side by side.
And while we can't control the market, there are simple things we can control to steady our ship in the storm, fill our sails with wind, and choose the direction we want to travel.
STEADINESS
This comes from within.
- What stories are you telling yourself right now? Do they serve you, or do they need reframing?
- Who are you surrounding yourself with? Do they energise you, challenge you and back you, or leave you feeling smaller?
- How are you nourishing yourself physically, mentally and emotionally? What needs more attention? What needs less?
- Where are you maximising your strengths? When do you feel most capable, valuable and in flow? How could you create more of those moments?
MOVEMENT
This comes from action.
- Who is experiencing your strengths, expertise and unique value?
- Who isn't in your network today that should be?
- What project, opportunity, conversation or introduction have you been waiting too long to initiate? Where are you staying invisible because you don't feel ready yet?
- If someone were making decisions about promotions, opportunities or leadership succession tomorrow, would they know what you're capable of?
DIRECTION
This comes from intention.
- Are you intentionally pursuing your goals for the final six months of 2026, or are you being pushed around by the winds of change?
- What do you want this year to mean for your career, leadership and life?
- What capabilities, experiences or relationships do you need to build to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be?
- Where would a mentor, coach, sponsor or strategic advocate accelerate your growth?
- If everything went right over the next six months, what would be different?
The professionals who navigate uncertainty best aren't always the most talented. They're often the ones who stay steady enough to keep moving and intentional enough to stay on course.
One conversation.
One introduction.
One project.
One visible action at a time.
So, what's one thing you could do this coming month to create more steadiness? Create more movement? Shape more direction?
Share with me, I'd love to hear what you are committing to so I can support you.
