BOOK A STRATEGY CALL

Resilience, Relevance, Relationships - Navigating Uncertainity

career confidence Apr 06, 2026

Last week, I was on a call with a client in Beirut when the bomb siren sounded. I instinctively moved to reschedule. He calmly chose to continue.

What followed wasn’t just a coaching conversation; it was a masterclass in resilience. Not the polished, motivational kind. The real kind. The kind that chooses presence, focus, and forward motion in the face of uncertainty.

And here we are, in a world that feels anything but predictable.

Geopolitical tension.

AI reshaping roles at pace.

Expectations rising, clarity not always keeping up.

Resilience matters. But not in isolation. Because in this environment, resilience without relevance risks stagnation. And resilience without relationships risks invisibility.

So the question becomes - how are you showing up across all three?

RESILIENCE

  • Choosing progress over perfection.
  • Staying anchored in who you are, even as everything around you shifts.
  • Taking the next step, even when the full path isn’t clear.
  • Letting go of what no longer serves, faster.

And most importantly, resilience is not just about enduring. It’s about adapting with intention.

Three questions to define what resilience looks like for you this quarter:

  1. Where am I currently being tested, and how do I want to show up instead?
  2. What do I need to stay relevant in this next quarter?
  3. What is one bold, grounding action I will take this week to move forward, regardless of uncertainty?

Small step. Clear intention. No overthinking.

RELEVANCE

  • Evolving your skillset before you’re forced to.
  • Being known for something specific, not just being “good at your job.
  • Sharing your thinking, not just delivering outcomes.
  • Staying curious, not comfortable.
  • Positioning yourself where opportunities can find you, not just where you’re performing well.

Relevance today isn’t about keeping up. It’s about staying intentional in how you grow, show up, and add value, before the market asks you to.

Three questions to ask yourself about remaining relevant:

  1. Where am I relying on past success instead of building future value?
  2. How visible is my thinking, not just my output?
  3. What skill, perspective or stretch would make me undeniably valuable in the next 12 months?

Not safe. Strategic.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Being intentional, not incidental, about who you stay connected to.
  • Investing in people before you need something.
  • Creating genuine connection, not transactional touchpoints.
  • Expanding beyond your immediate circle into new rooms and perspectives.
  • Being someone people trust, advocate for, and want to open doors for.

Because in a fast-moving, uncertain world, opportunities don’t just come from performance. They come through people.

Three questions to ask yourself about the relationships you want to nourish, maintain or build:

  1. Who are the 5–7 people I need to intentionally stay connected to this quarter, and why?
  2. Where am I waiting to be reached out to, instead of leading the connection?
  3. What kind of reputation am I building through the way I show up in my relationships?

Trusted? Valuable? Memorable?

If resilience keeps you steady, relevance keeps you in the game, and relationships move you forward.

It's not about having all the answers.
It’s about choosing how you show up, again and again, amid the uncertainty.

And right now?
This is one of those moments.
