Is this coaching, consulting or strategic counsel? Who is this partnership designed for? Why is the initial commitment six months?
Is this coaching, consulting or strategic counsel?
It is a tailored combination of all three. Depending on what the situation requires, I may help you uncover your own answer, offer an independent perspective, challenge your thinking, share practical advice or work alongside you to shape the next move.
Who is this partnership designed for?
This is for executives and founders navigating greater responsibility, complexity, visibility or change, and who value a trusted, independent person with whom they can think honestly and strategically.
Why is the initial commitment six months?
Meaningful change takes more than one good conversation. Six months gives us time to build trust, understand the broader context, address immediate priorities and support you as decisions, opportunities and challenges unfold. A lot of my clients expand their partnership with me at this point, others choose to take time to embrace their new insights, knowledge and resources themselves, knowing I am always there to support them when they’re ready.
What happens if I need support between our scheduled sessions?
Between-session access is built into the partnership, with the level and format clearly outlined in your agreement. You can reach out when something important arises rather than waiting until our next scheduled conversation.
Can I add additional services?
Yes. I offer a range of additional coaching, consulting, assessment, communication, leadership and executive brand services. These can be added at any stage and will be scoped and quoted separately based on your needs.
Can I roll unused sessions or services over?
No. Sessions and services don’t roll over month to month. They need to be used within the agreed engagement period. This keeps the work active, focused and connected to the outcomes we have agreed to achieve together.
What happens if I need to reschedule a session?
I understand that executive and founder schedules can change unexpectedly. Sessions can be rescheduled within the agreed monthly format outlined in your agreement; late cancellations or missed sessions will be forfeited.
Is everything we discuss confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to the partnership and creates the space for you to speak openly about situations you may not be able to discuss with your board, team, investors, colleagues or family. Any legal or ethical limits to confidentiality will be clearly explained in your agreement.
Is the investment tax-deductible?
I am a registered Australian business with an ABN and will provide a tax invoice. Many clients have used their invoices to claim professional development or business-related expenses; however, I am not an accountant, so you should seek advice from your accountant regarding your individual circumstances.
What if I am not satisfied with the partnership?
I take the quality of this work very seriously. If you have fully participated, including completing agreed preparation, reflection and actions, and remain dissatisfied, we will discuss your experience openly. Depending on the circumstances, we may consider pausing the engagement or refunding the unused portion of your program. To date, I have never needed to do this.

What is coaching?
Coaching is a partnership that nurtures self-awareness and accountability to realise a client’s true potential. It is based on the presupposition that everyone is born with the capability for greatness. Through conversation and methodology, coaching is based on a client-led journey of authentic exploration, and clients are given the opportunity to achieve sustainable positive change that enables success.
What is the coach’s role in the partnership?
The role of the coach is to be insatiably curious, allowing them to artfully create thought-provoking questions that lead a client to a new realm of thinking and, in doing so, a new place of understanding and knowledge. They hold the client in a supportive space while taking them out of their comfort zone to explore and refine a new way forward. The partnership of coach and client is one of great trust and authenticity.
What is the client’s role in the partnership?
The role of the client is to turn up on time and be present in the sessions, ready and open to explore from an authentic space. As a client, you reap from coaching what you sow; clients who take accountability for their success and subsequently take action are the ones who will create great gains and acquire life-changing skills and knowledge.
What does a session entail?
It will involve identifying an area for development, deep exploration of that area, an action plan, and a resource plan for maintaining accountability. In between sessions, the coach is available to support the client through email and phone.
How is coaching different to mentoring?
Firstly, coaching is forward-focused, so unlike therapy or counselling, which aim to unravel the past to enable you to move forward, coaching starts at the present and focusses on developing the awareness and skill to move forward to create the future.
Mentoring is the art of telling. It is someone who has experience of where you are right now and will share their experiences and give you the answers on how to move forward.
Coaching is the art of asking. Although it is useful to have a similar experience to the client, it is not imperative, as coaching comes from the mindset that the client has all the answers within themselves. They need the opportunity, through questioning and exploration, to know what that answer is and, in doing so, make a decision based on what meets their core needs and not someone else’s.
What is the difference between personal branding and company branding?
A personal brand identifies what you want to be known for as an individual and how you will show up in the world (attitude, language, beliefs, values, messaging, personal presentation, storytelling) to shape that perception. It also focuses on making you the individual, visible and credible, providing a platform for you to be seen as an authority. This authority status opens doors and gives you visibility that brings attention to your business and creates opportunities for yourself, your team, and your business. On the other hand, business branding is about identifying how you want your business to be perceived and the visual identity to shape that (logo, fonts, colour palette etc.)
How do I shine the spotlight on my business and not on myself?
People do business with people. By elevating your visibility professionally, captivatingly, and impactfully, people will be interested and influenced by what you talk about. Your credibility and trustworthiness will transfer to anything aligned with you. As your network and platform grow as an individual, so will your ability to champion your business grow, too.
My culture values humility and collaboration; is it possible to self-promote and be humble?
Yes! Self-promotion isn’t a beating of the chest and bad-mouthing competition. Instead, self-promotion is about being confident in your expertise, adding value to your community, and letting the world know your door is open to help. It is done authentically, reflects your values, leverages your strengths, and has you being your best version of yourself.
Why build a personal brand instead of hiring a publicist or social media expert to create visibility for me?
You are your brand, and every experience someone has with you shapes your reputation. How you choose to speak, act/react and what you talk about must be the same version of you as the one we see in social media or through the media. If it’s not consistent, it’s not trustworthy (you’re not trustworthy). Your reputation will shatter when you’re labelled untrustworthy, and all opportunities are lost.
